When the family returned, she enrolled in classes at Coffeyville Community College to freshen up her computer skills and once again excelled in her classes being inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa. As a young girl she attended Lowell grade school and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1975. Fredas first job was at the Magnet variety store in Cherryvale. In 1963, at 24 years old, she bravely left her family and country, and moved to the United States to get married. Shirley Barnett, age 94, formerly of Caney, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Medicalodges Nursing Home in Coffeyville, He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald Bud D. and Danna (Partain) Thomas. The couple were married in Arkansas, making their home in Lenapah before moving to their forever farm in Wann. He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended grade school and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1981. His signature terms of endearment were to give those he liked most a nickname. The family made their home in Longton, KS where she attended school. In addition to her parents Martha was preceded in death by infant sons, Kenneth Wade and Phillip Wayne Hyatt; siblings Harold, Ray and Rollo Redburn, Flo Hoagland, Freda Lindquist and Merry Jovalene Heaton, grandson Johnathan Workman. She will be dearly missed by us all. Her and Ruben eventually moved from in town to living in the country, where she loved the outdoors. He loved attending Car Shows and Auctions with his children and loved collecting anything to do with fire trucks. Together they attended the Edna First Baptist Church. The David W.
